Hamilton: Barcelona track resurfacing a waste of money
Lewis Hamilton was in good spirits during the first four days of preseason testing in Barcelona, however, the Mercedes driver did unleash a little rant about the resurfacing of the Circuit de Catalunya which he believes deletes the character of a race track. Asked about the resurfacing of the Spanish Grand Prix venue, Hamilton said, 'Why did this racetrack have to get new asphalt? Generally, I think it's a waste of money.' 'For me, the older a surface the more character it has. So we lost a lot of special elements of the Barcelona track because of the new asphalt. Unfortunately, this is being done by many racetracks.'
