Hamilton hopes to battle Bottas after losing pole

Lewis Hamilton says he’s hoping the 2017 Formula 1 season finale in Abu Dhabi doesn’t turn into “a train” as he wants a fight against Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas after seeing the Finn grab pole position. Despite leading during free practice Hamilton conceded the cooler conditions for qualifying disturbed his balance in his Mercedes which let team-mate Bottas storm to his fourth pole position of the season by 0.172s – one the Finnish driver is determined to convert to a win after missing out to Sebastian Vettel in Brazil in the last race.
