Sebastian Vettel snatches surprise Mexican GP pole ahead of Max Verstappen

Sebastian Vettel will start from pole position for this weekend's Mexican Grand Prix as he attempts to keep his hopes for a fifth world championship victory alive. Vettel set a 1:16.488 to take the top spot on the standings, leading Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen by only 0.086s, meaning that the Dutchman will line up in second place. Lewis Hamilton qualified in third as he attempts to clinch a fourth championship, 0.446s down on his rival. Valtteri Bottas will line up in fourth place ahead of his fellow countryman, Kimi Raikkonen, with 0.280s splitting the pair.
