Vandoorne's penalty count climbs to 30

Stoffel Vandoorne's penalty tally for the United States GP is up to 30 after Honda changed his power unit after qualifying. Vandoorne arrived at the Circuit of the Americas for this weekend's grand prix well aware that he was facing a five-place grid penalty. As such, when qualifying was said and done on Saturday afternoon, he was down to start 14th on the grid. That, though, became P20 overnight. Honda detected an issue with his MGU-H after qualifying and opted to replace his power unit; an 11th MGU-H, 11th turbocharger, ninth ICE and eighth MGU-K. That means Vandoorne's penalty count is up to 30 and he is starting Sunday's race from the very back of the grid.
