Mercedes go aggressive with tyre choices for Mexico

FIA have communicated to Pirelli each team’s tyre choices for the forthcoming Mexican Grand Prix, Round 18 of the 2017 Formula 1 World Championship on 27-29 October, with Mercedes drivers opting to go aggressive while Red Bull and Ferrari have gone more conservative in their selections. Championship leader Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas have opted for nine sets each of the Pirelli purple band ultrasoft tyres for the weekend at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. With Hamilton choosing three sets of supersofts and a set of softs, with Bottas taking along two sets of supersofts and two soft sets.
