Renault ‘committed' to helping axed Palmer

Renault boss Cyril Abiteboul has said that both he and the team will help Jolyon Palmer start the next chapter of his career after his Formula 1 exit. The Japanese Grand Prix was Palmer's last in Renault colours after he agreed a compensation package to vacate his seat early and let Carlos Sainz start his one-year loan move earlier than planned. But Abiteboul has reassured Palmer that Renault are there to help him find his next move. 'We are a manufacturer that's part of a large group, and we have a footprint that's quite wide in motorsport, so there are opportunities also to help him for the future,' Abiteboul told Autosport when quizzed about what the future holds for the Brit.
