Honda wants memorable final Japanese GP with McLaren

Despite the Japanese Grand Prix marking Honda’s last home race as engine partner with McLaren, Yusuke Hasgawa is determined it will be ‘a special race for the team’ coming off the back of positive results in Singapore and Malaysia. After announcing the McLaren-Honda split in Singapore, the team has gone on to secure its best consecutive results of the year with Stoffel Vandoorne grabbing back-to-back seventh place finishes. Fernando Alonso has also been a strong contender but was an unlucky victim of on-track clashes in Singapore and Malaysia to deny the Spanish driver a shot at the points.
