FIA amends Super Licence points for 2018

– The FIA has restructured the Super Licence points system for 2018, with several championships having their allocation reduced, ostensibly guiding youngsters towards Formula 2.For the 2015, the FIA introduced a system whereby drivers would have to rack up 40 points over three seasons of competition in order to qualify for a Super Licence, required to race in Formula 1.Under that ranking system, champions in GP2, IndyCar, European F3, Formula E and the LMP1 division of the World Endurance Championship were all awarded 40 points, enough for a Super Licence.GP2 has since been rebranded as Formula 2, and the top three drivers in the series will still receive 40 points, with...
