Carlos Sainz 'honoured' to be joining Renault for 2018
Renault have confirmed that Carlos Sainz Jr. will race alongside Nico Hulkenberg during the 2018 season following Toro Rosso's switch to Honda engines. With Toro Rosso switching to Honda and McLaren to Renault, the French manufacturer demanded that Sainz be loaned to them for a season in exchange for terminating their engine deal early. Red Bull duly agreed and confirmation that the Spaniard will join Renault was announced on Friday in the Singapore paddock. 'I'm very happy to be joining Renault,' said Sainz.
