Close shave for Ricciardo at wet Silverstone
It wouldn't be a proper British Grand Prix without the rain coming along to spice things up a little bit, just as Daniel Ricciardo… World Championship leader Sebastian Vettel, complete with his trusty backpack, was amongst the early arrivals at cold and gloomy Silverstone on Saturday morning. With the threat of rain to come, there was an eagerness to get out and get on with some qualifying simulation work. The Williams FW40 caught the eye as some mini shirt collars were attached to the sidepods… The drivers were soon ducking for cover as the rain began to fall during FP3, but not before Vettel really closed up the gap to Mercedes.
