Barcelona announce wet weather test date

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has revealed that the final day of the first test will be used for wet weather running. The first pre-season test begins on February 27, with March 2 pencilled in for artificially wet conditions to be created at the request of tyre supplier Pirelli. The date will only change if rain falls on any of the three previous days of testing, but the weather forecast suggests that plans are very unlikely to be moved around. The Barcelona circuit have already been practising their set-up of a wet track after running into problems in the past with the tarmac drying out too quickly.
