FIA approves Liberty Media F1 takeover

– The FIA, motorsport's governing body, has approved the takeover of Formula 1 by Liberty Media, following an extraordinary meeting of the World Motor Sport Council in Geneva on Wednesday.Liberty Media took on an initial 18.7 per cent stake in Delta Topco, Formula 1's parent company, in 2016, and announced its intentions to acquire 100 per cent of the shares.On Tuesday, Liberty Media's proposition was rubber-stamped by its own stakeholders, though it still required the approval of the FIA, which has now been granted."During the meeting, the representatives of the prospective new owner made a detailed presentation of their strategy," read a statement issued by the WMSC on...
