– The start of a new year means the arrival of overhauled regulations, a shake up to the driver market and an array of other sub-plots in Formula 1. GPUpdate.net takes a look at what to watch for in 2017.Technical Regulations Formula 1's technical regulations have been overhauled in order for cars to contain more downforce, making the cars more spectacular, harder to drive, and faster, compared to when the rules were drafted in late 2015. This has been achieved in a number of ways. The front wing span has been increased from 1650mm to 1800mm, with the overall car width expanding from 1800mm to 2000mm.
