Verstappen tops 2016 overtaking charts

– Red Bull youngster Max Verstappen completed the highest number of overtaking manoeuvres during the 2016 season, according to data compiled by tyre supplier Pirelli.Verstappen made 78 passes, the most since 1983, the earliest year that data is available, 18 over the first four races at Toro Rosso, and 60 after stepping up to Red Bull.Red Bull carried out the most overtakes as a team, with 136 moves recorded, 61 by Daniel Ricciardo, the aforementioned 60 by Verstappen and 15 by Daniil Kvyat.Overall, there were 866 overtakes carried out during the season, at an average of 41.2 per race, a significant rise from the 2015 season, when there were 509 overtakes.China was the busiest dry...
