– It was announced earlier on Monday that the French Grand Prix will return at Paul Ricard from 2018. GPUpdate.net looks back at the history of the event and the various locations which have been usedReims-Gueux (1950-66, 11 races) The French Grand Prix was one of the original seven events on the inaugural Formula 1 roster and its first home – during the Formula 1 era – was at Reims-Gueux, in the North-Eastern Champagne region. The race, which took place on public roads to the west of the city, became known for its high-speed nature, with a 2.2km main straight.
