– Lewis Hamilton edged out Max Verstappen during Friday's first practice session for the Brazilian Grand Prix, with Mercedes and Red Bull closely matched, as Ferrari opted against using the softest tyre available.Hamilton and team-mate Nico Rosberg set the pace on the Medium-tyre runs, separated by just 0.030s, before a surge of Soft-shod efforts.Hamilton worked his way down to a 1:11.895, a tenth clear of Verstappen, who gained a significant tow along the pit straight on his best lap.Rosberg, looking to defend a 19-point lead over Hamilton, took third, followed by Daniel Ricciardo – the top four covered by half a second.Ferrari, out of sync with its rivals, spent the entire...
