US GP: Verstappen heads Red Bull 1-2 in FP3
Max Verstappen set the fastest time in the final practice session before qualifying for the United States Grand Prix at Austin’s Circuit of the Americas, leading a Red Bull Racing 1-2. Verstappen lapped in 1m36.766s, a quarter of a second faster than teammate Daniel Ricciardo. Mercedes failed to show its hand on supersoft tyres, as neither Lewis Hamilton nor Nico Rosberg completed a representative lap on them. They finished the session fourth and fifth respectively, behind Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen. Sebastian Vettel reported a gearbox problem near the end of the session, which ended his running prematurely.
