Tech analysis: What's behind Mercedes suspension controversy

The growing gap between Mercedes and the opposition has been a cause of intrigue for many in recent races, as teams struggled for answers about just what the world champion had done to make the difference. For while it has been aggressive in bringing aerodynamic developments to its W07, that does not appear to offer the full explanation of the gap it has had over its rivals. Over recent weeks, however, there has been growing intrigue about suspension developments, with a report in respected German publication Auto Motor und Sport this week suggesting that rivals want F1's rule book tweak to outlaw what Mercedes is doing.
