Magnussen 'motivated' for Monza, set for Thursday medical checks

Kevin Magnussen says he is “very motivated” to race at the Italian Grand Prix and has passed checks in Denmark, but will require a final assessment on Thursday at Monza. The Renault driver lost control in the early stages of the Belgian Grand Prix on Sunday and crashed heavily at the top of Eau Rouge/Raidillon. He was checked over at the medical centre before being transferred to hospital, having sustained a heavily bruised left ankle. Magnussen returned home to Denmark and went through further checks, which indicate he is fit to race at the Italian GP this weekend. But the final decision and all-clear to race will be made by the FIA doctors on Thursday at Monza, as is standard...
