Mercedes set to run halo in Spa practice
– Mercedes is planning to run the 'halo' on Nico Rosberg's car during Friday practice at this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix, a spokesperson for the team has informed GPUpdate.net.Formula 1 teams voted last month to delay the introduction of a cockpit protection system until the 2018 season, agreeing that further development work on "all options" is needed.FIA Race Director Charlie Whiting is keen for all drivers to test the three-pronged halo, which is currently the preferred option, ahead of Red Bull's alternate 'aeroscreen' concept.Ferrari drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen and Red Bull junior Pierre Gasly have tested the halo, with Rosberg now set to join the...
