FIA modifies Formula 1 radio restrictions
– The FIA has issued further restrictions on radio messages allowable under the regulations following Mercedes' controversial instruction to Nico Rosberg during the British Grand Prix.Rosberg's Mercedes W07 Hybrid developed a gearbox problem during the closing stages of the race at Silverstone and he was urged to switch to a different setting, as well as to avoid the use of seventh gear.Rosberg subsequently maintained second position across the closing stages, finishing as runner-up to team-mate Lewis Hamilton.However, Stewards deliberated for several hours until handing him a 10-second time penalty, which demoted him to third spot.Under the revised regulations, a problem such as the...
