Ericsson taken to hospital following FP3 crash

Marcus Ericsson has been taken to hospital following his heavy crash in this morning's practice session. The crash, which saw the Swede's Sauber wrecked, and also extensive damage to the safety barrier, happened when he ran wide on to the damp Astroturf coming out of Stowe. The youngster was a passenger as his car speared into the barriers on the other side of the track. Slow to get out of the car initially, Ericsson was subsequently checked by a medical examiner by the side of the track, the Swede, once given the all-clear, waving to the crowds.
