Pirelli sets out 2017 tyre testing plans
– Formula 1 tyre supplier Pirelli has outlined its testing schedule as it prepares to introduce revised specification rubber in the 2017 campaign.From next year, the front tyre will be 60mm wider, extending from 245 to 305mm, while the rear tyre will be 80mm bigger, going from 325 to 405mm.Overall, the 2017 tyres will be 25% wider than the current specification, and this measurement applies to both the Intermediates and Full Wet compounds as well.24 days of testing will take place across 10 sessions at five different circuits, with Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull supplying modified 2015 cars.A precise specification will be set out by the FIA in order that the cars can simulate the...
