Ferrari opts for aggressive Silverstone tyre strategy

Ferrari has opted for a more aggressive tyre strategy for the upcoming British Grand Prix at Silverstone than its main rivals Mercedes and Red Bull. The Scuderia will bring eight sets of soft compound Pirellis – the softest option on offer at the Northamptonshire track – for both Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen, along with three sets of mediums and two sets of hards. By contrast, the Mercedes and Red Bull drivers will all have seven sets of softs at their disposal. However, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg each have five sets of mediums and a sole set of hards, while Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen have gone for an extra set of hards.
