Williams 'nowhere near' Baku Expectations – Smedley
European Grand Prix – Williams' head of performance engineering Rob Smedley feels the pace shown by their car was below the pre-race expectations. Williams were out-scored by their nearest constructors' championship rivals Force India and Red Bull Racing in a difficult weekend in the Azerbaijani capital, with Valtteri Bottas taking sixth place and Felipe Massa finishing in tenth. Speaking after the race, Smedley explained the tyre wear issues faced by both drivers during the race. 'That was nowhere near what we expected from this race,' concluded Smedley.
