2016 Canadian GP: Hamilton wins as Vettel lost with strategy error Lewis Hamilton won the Canadian Grand Prix after a slow getaway off the line, to lead in the F1 drivers’ standings with his second consecutive victory of the season. It’s also Hamilton’s fifth victory at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Montreal’s Isle Notre-Dame, where he earned his first Grand Prix win in 2007. Sebastian Vettel had stormed into the lead at the start, but the Silver Arrows' adapted single stop strategy – when Ferrari opted for super-softs – during a Virtual Safety Car period in the first session of race, and also Ferrari forced two take another stop for long lasting Soft compound…...
