Hamilton hails 'awesome' practice day
Mercedes AMG Petronas Reigning World Champion Lewis Hamilton cut an upbeat figure as he led the way during both practice sessions for the Canadian Grand Prix. Hamilton finished the second session at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve 0.257s clear of Ferrari rival Sebastian Vettel. The Briton secured his maiden Formula 1 victory in Canada nine years ago and has since triumphed at the circuit on three further occasions. "It's been an awesome day," he said. "This has always been a strong circuit for me and I'm really enjoying being back here again. I've generally been really happy with the car so far.
