Wehrlein drafted in for Ocon at Mercedes for test

Pascal Wehrlein has been selected for driver duties instead of the initially confirmed Esteban Ocon with Mercedes looking to run a specific testing programme on day two of the in-season test at Circuit de Catalunya. Ocon, who tested for Renault on day one, had originally been lined-up for Mercedes on Wednesday but a late call sees the German protégé Wehrlein replace him with the team explaining it will be running a new programme and needed a more experience driver. The decision to run a second full-time driver after Nico Rosberg drove on day one means Lewis Hamilton will miss out on in-season testing for a second consecutive year due to driver rules dictating the amount of days allowed...
