Verstappen: 'I didn't expect to adapt so quickly'
Spanish Grand Prix – New Red Bull driver Max Verstappen said he wasn't expecting to get to grips with his new car as quickly as he did. He lines up P4 for Sunday's race. Verstappen was one of the sensations of qualifying on Saturday. Having said on Friday evening that he needed more time to fully get to explore the limits of his new RB12, the Dutch driver promptly snatched P3 in Q1 & Q2, only bettered by the two Mercedes drivers. Moving into Q3, he even looked as though he might trouble the Mercs as he pipped Lewis Hamilton's first lap when the reigning Champion made an error, but ultimately had to settle for P4 overall after teammate Daniel Ricciardo put in a late flyer.
