Ocon to get first Mercedes F1 test at Barcelona

Esteban Ocon will get his first taste of the Mercedes Formula 1 car at Barcelona in Spain next week, when he joins the team for the final day of the post-race test. The Frenchman is part of the Mercedes young driver programme, but has been loaned out to Renault this year to help his development. He will take part in FP1 at the Spanish Grand Prix for the French car manufacturer, and is also scheduled to run on the opening day of the test for the Renault team as well. However, Mercedes has confirmed that he will then switch cars to join the Brackley-based outfit for the second day, taking over from Nico Rosberg.
