Hamilton given reprimand after turn 2 incident
Mercedes driver, Lewis Hamilton has been given a reprimand after failing to detour his Mercedes past the ‘penalty box' area when he ran wide during qualifying. During the early stages of Q1, Lewis Hamilton exceeded track limits, but gained no advantage after he aborted his lap once he ran wide at turn 2, which has seen several drivers push the limit of that particular ‘tight' and ‘challenging' corner. After the race direction wasn't happy with the way cars were rejoining the track during Friday practice, Charlie Whiting took the decision to set up a penalty box at turn 2, forcing the drivers to slow down and detour into a red and white polstyrene block, which was for...
