Wehrlein: Bump hid patch of standing water

– Manor rookie Pascal Wehrlein says a bump along the pit straight hid a patch of water, which caused him to lose control of his MRT05 early on in Q1 at the Chinese Grand Prix.Wehrlein was starting a hot lap on Super Soft tyres when he hit the strip of water at the finish line, with the narrow segment of the circuit having not dried following heavy rain earlier in the day.Wehrlein half spun across the circuit before he struck the barriers, causing damage to the left hand side of his MRT05.Wehrlein parked his car by the side of the track and will start Sunday's Grand Prix from 21st place, ahead of only Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton."The track was pretty dry by the start of qualifying...
