Alonso given provisional Chinese GP clearance

Fernando Alonso The FIA has cleared Fernando Alonso to return to the wheel of his McLaren for opening practice at the Chinese Grand Prix. Alonso underwent an evaluation at the Shanghai International Circuit today and will be the subject of further tests following the opening session in order to receive the green light for the race. The two-time world champion was prevented from participating in Bahrain two weeks ago due to the punctured lung and fractured ribs he sustained in Australia’s season opener.
