Five-place gearbox penalty for Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton will take a five-place grid penalty for Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix due to a gearbox change. The rules say drivers must use a single gearbox for six consecutive races, but Hamilton's Mercedes team said the gearbox was damaged in the last race in Bahrain and had to be changed. The penalty means the highest Hamilton can start in Shanghai is sixth on the grid. "This weekend is going to be tough," Hamilton said on Instagram. Never want to miss the latest formula 1 news?
