Vandoorne confident he passed his big test

Stoffel Vandoorne says he believes he given McLaren a clear vision of what he could be capable of in Formula 1 if he was given the full-time chance after scoring points on his F1 debut in Bahrain. The reigning GP2 champion was given his much anticipated maiden F1 chance after Fernando Alonso was ruled out on the eve of the event, Vandoorne stepping in despite having never driven the McLaren-Honda MP4-31. Despite the lack of mileage, hampered further by a time-sapping oil leak in FP3, Vandoorne proceeded to out-qualify Jenson Button and keep himself out of trouble to score McLaren's first point of the season in tenth position.
