Webber surprised by qualifying situation

– Mark Webber has admitted that he was shocked to hear that Formula 1 will stick with its full live elimination qualifying format in Bahrain, after a vote on the matter late last week.Under the 2016 qualifying system, drivers drop out in Q1, Q2 and Q3 at 90 second intervals after seven, six and five minutes respectively in each knockout session.But it came under fire after its debut in Australia, due to a lack of track action in the closing minutes, with pole position settled more than three minutes before the chequered flag.Formula 1 collectively opted to scrap the format, and return to the system used from 2006-2015, but unanimous agreement was not reached at a subsequent...
