Palmer overcomes Renault gearbox problem

Renault Sport F1 Jolyon Palmer expressed optimism after he was able to overcome a gearbox problem in his Renault RS16 to complete a race distance during testing in Spain. Palmer completed the fewest laps of any drivers in the opening test and was hit by a further setback when he took over testing duties from Kevin Magnussen on Thursday. However, the British rookie was able to carry out a full race simulation during the afternoon session as he placed 10th on the leaderboard.
