Hamilton slams 'ridiculous' F1 car weight

– Lewis Hamilton has described as "ridiculous" plans to further increase the weight of F1 cars, claiming they should be reduced instead.Formula 1 cars weighed 600kg between 1997 and 2006, but have steadily increased over the years, and currently come in at 702kg.Under a planned regulation overhaul for 2017, car weight could rise to 722kg, with 5kg down to wider tyres required for the changes.Asked about the proposals during testing at Barcelona, Hamilton made clear his belief that Formula 1 is heading in the wrong direction."When I got to Formula 1, I think the car was 600kg," said Hamilton."Now it's 100kg heavier.
