Manor sign Rio Haryanto; 2016 grid complete

Manor have signed 23 year old Rio Haryanto as their second driver for 2016. The GP2 veteran tested for Manor in Abu Dhabi at the end of 2015, having finished P4 in the feeder series championship. Following weeks of speculation, it is he who takes the final seat available in F1 this year, beating 2015 race drivers Alexander Rossi and Will Stevens. Haryanto spoke of his excitement about the appointment; having secured enough backing to land the seat, he becomes the only Asian driver on the grid and the first since Kamui Kobayashi's departure in 2014. “Manor Racing is a team with an exciting vision and ambitious plans.
