Renault drivers ‘feel' for Maldonado

Kevin Magnussen and Jolyon Palmer have expressed their sympathy for Pastor Maldonado after he was dropped by Renault. Maldonado had expected to race for Renault this season having been confirmed by Lotus last year. However that all changed when his sponsors, Venezuela's state-owned oil company PDVSA, failed to come up with the money. Maldonado was dropped by team while days later Magnussen was confirmed as his replacement. And although undoubtedly happy to be back in F1, the Dane sympathises with his predecessor.
