Renault signs Ocon as reserve driver
– Reigning GP3 champion Esteban Ocon has been appointed as Renault's official test and reserve driver for the upcoming Formula 1 campaign, the French manufacturer announced on Wednesday.Ocon, 19, picked up increased backing from Mercedes following his GP3 title triumph in 2015 but the young Frenchman will now link up with Renault as it plots its return to the top of Formula 1.Ocon was associated with the Enstone outfit earlier in his career, having been managed by Gravity Sports, and participated in the opening practice session for the 2014 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.Esteban Ocon career summary:2012Makes debut in single-seaters in Formula Renault for Koiranen, collecting a couple of...
