US Grand Prix absolutely to remain on F1 schedule

Bernie Ecclestone says he is in no doubt that the United States Grand Prix will go ahead in 2016, despite a cut in local funding from the Texas state towards the Circuit of the Americas. The Austin venue suffered a drop in spectator numbers in 2015 after the event was hampered by a storm front, which prevented much meaningful running from taking place either on Friday or Saturday, though the race did go ahead as planned. However, the COTA venue was hit hard by more storms and flooding the following week, only to then see its state funding cut by 20 per cent towards the end of the 2015 season.
