Pirelli: Fans should get live tyre strategy updates
Pirelli say that they believe fan knowledge of tyre usage would increase excitement while watching a race. The upcoming season of Formula One will bring into effect loosened regulations regarding teams' freedom to determine their tyre strategy for races, with teams getting to choose three compounds over ten specific sets of tyres to take to the race weekend. However, with the loosened restrictions, which also include Pirelli dictating to each team two sets of tyres (though not necessarily different compounds) which must be used in the race, the tyre manufacturer's manager Mario Isola sees potential for confusion.
