Team of the Year: Mercedes AMG Petronas

Despite Toto Wolff and Niki Lauda and notwithstanding some high profile gaffes during the course of the season, Mercedes get this award unanimously. It came down to a question of the team who made the least mistakes and delivered on track irrespective of their drivers and management. Ferrari dropped the ball on several occasions, Red Bull fumbled the ball big time, Williams had the ball but did not know what to do with it, while McLaren never had the ball… Truth is Mercedes team deserve this award for their unsung heroes, the faceless people who toil behind the scenes to deliver a relentless package which has dominated the sport for the past 24 months.
