– Kevin Magnussen says he had been assured by McLaren during his rookie season that he would be driving for the squad in 2015, prior to its decision to pair Fernando Alonso with Jenson Button.Magnussen made his Formula 1 debut with McLaren in 2014 but lost his seat at the end of the year, as the outfit opted to retain Button alongside the returning Alonso.Magnussen claims that, towards the end of his rookie year, he had been informed by the team that his seat was safe for 2015, before he was demoted to the role of reserve driver."I was told that it was my seat," Magnussen told Danish publication Ekstra Bladet."[I was told] that I did not need to worry.
