Sponsor drops McLaren for Red Bull
The 2015 campaign has been one to forget for McLaren, and it gone from bad to worse with the news that major sponsor Tag Heuer has dropped them in favour of Red Bull. The TAG Group owns a 25 percent stake in the McLaren group, but the Swiss watch manufacturer has decided to end its 30-year partnership with McLaren to join up with Red Bull. 'Yes, we just signed with Red bull in F1 for next season,' Tag Heuer CEO Jean-Claude Biver told Swiss magazine L'Hebdo. 'It's a young, dynamic and go-getter team, perfectly matching the strategy of TAG Heuer.' The news comes as a big blow for McLaren who are struggling to attract new sponsors as they continue to languish on the wrong end of the grid.
