Hamilton wanted to try different strategy

Mercedes AMG Petronas Lewis Hamilton says he wanted to attempt a different strategy to Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg in a bid to win the Brazilian Grand Prix. Hamilton trailed Rosberg at Interlagos but wanted to deviate from the three-stop approach in what he called a 'boring' race. "Obviously I was behind Nico and in traffic for some time and it just killed my tyres," he explained. "It’s a shame because it’s such a great track but you just can’t get close enough to race.
