FIA begins search for standard engine
– Formula 1's governing body, the FIA, has officially started the process of finding a potential alternative engine supplier from 2017 by calling for expressions of interest.Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone and FIA President Jean Todt have been pushing for a cheaper power unit for independent teams, given the cost of the current engines."The FIA has decided to launch a consultation among the engine manufacturers in order to potentially identify for the 2017, 2018 and 2019 seasons of the aforementioned championship an exclusive alternative engine manufacturer which will be solely entitled to supply this alternative engine to the competitors entered for said seasons of the...
