Perez fights to fifth despite struggling for grip

Sergio Perez drove the wheel off of his Force India, to bring home a solid ten points by way of fifth position in a tricky USGP. Perez started the race in from fifth on the starting grid, although it was no easy race for him as he dropped down the order before bouncing back to reclaim his starting position. “The track was very damp to begin with and I was lacking pace on the intermediates – sliding around with a lot of degradation.' Admitted the Mexican driver. 'Then, when we switched to the softs and eventually the mediums, it was not easy to get the temperature in the tyres and I struggled for grip with each restart.' Perez dropped as low as tenth on lap 24, was able to fight his way...
