Valtteri Bottas hit with five place grid penalty

United States Grand Prix – Williams' Valtteri Bottas has been given a five place grid penalty for a gearbox change.The Finn qualified his Williams in P12 in a wet session at the Circuit Of The Americas. Moving up to P10 after penalties were applied to the two Ferrari drivers for engine changes, Bottas himself then took a five place grid penalty. Picking up some suspension damage in qualifying, he also needs a gearbox change. This triggers an automatic five place drop due to the rules requiring six consecutive events to have passed before a new gearbox can be installed.
